Matrimonial Discourses in Buddhism

Buddhism is more than perfect in all facets of the life of a Buddhist. Despite the appearance of moonlight and sun light, the world had been without the light of the Truth until the Buddha appeared and taught the Dhamma. The Buddha devoted 45 untiring years, day and night, of his life to teaching the Dhamma to all beings of the Three Worlds (the world of brahmas, the world of devas and the world of human beings) for their worldly happiness and prosperity and libration from the circle of rebirths. All those profound Teachings were duly recorded in the form of Sutta, Vinaya and Abhidhamma consisting of 84000 Dhamma units in all.
Apart from the deliverance from the worldly passions and round of rebirths, it is natural for the man to first himself or herself of seeking pleasure and prosperity in life. There are the specific teachings for the household on how to behave according to the existing society and sociological mannerism.
Today, the Teachings of the Buddha are flourishing, especial in Myanmar, with many people gaining all kinds of benefit from those discourses given by the Buddha. For those people much occupied with their family and social responsibilities should not lose sight of the Gihivinaya in Pali or social duties for all human beings. Gihivinaya discourses are known as Singalovada or Singala Sutta.
